NPS Player Spotlight: Trevin Wade

Trevin Wade was one of the trending players from the 2017 Norman Parker Showcase. Why? Well, because he was the sub six-footer that who was playing well above the rim for the Atlanta Xpress.

Fans made sure they caught him in action at Suwanee Sports Academy. Wade was one of the more entertaining players in the tournament.

Coming off a strong junior campaign at South Cobb where he averaged 18.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.9 steals a game, expectations are high for Wade.

He’s hoping to continue the success on the prep season to the travel season.

“Just give it 100 percent with everything I do,” Wade said. “This team, I have a little more help so I have to be a true point guard and help facilitate everything.”

Wade saw his brother Trey go through the recruiting process coming out of high school and at the junior college level. The older Wade is headed to UTEP.

“He told me to stay confident. Because I’m small, he told me that I have to pick and choose my spots because at the next level I’m not going to be able to attack the rim every time,” Wade said. “So, I’m trying to work on being a better facilitator, attacking and kicking.”

Wade said American and Arkansas have shown early interest in the recruiting process and a coach from Georgia State came to a game during the season. For now, though, he said he’s just hoping to get better and in front of the right college coaches.
