Teams in the Ohio Valley Conference didn’t mess around on the recruiting front for the class of 2017. There are a number of high-quality recruits coming to the league. We take a look at some of the notables.

Belmont put together a terrific class, rich with talent at each of the positions. Point guard Grayson Murphy was one of the South’s hottest mid-major point guards in the class of 2017 and had a parade of college coaches in hot pursuit during the July recruiting period. The Nashville area guard was a major coup in the class.

His travel teammate Caleb Hollander also joined the class, giving the Bruins a terrific pick and pop option at the forward position. Players like Hollander have performed very well in the past within Belmont’s system.

Kentucky forward Pedro Bradshaw and Ohio center Nick Muszynski give great size at their respective positions. You can make an argument for Belmont as one of the top 20 non-major classes in the 2017 class in college basketball.

Murray State signed a pair of players that Racer fans should be excited about. Matt McMahon and staff locked up Tevin Brown out of Alabama and JA Morant from South Carolina and both guys should do two things during their time at Murray State 1. start for multiple years and 2. score a lot of points. The Racers have a heck of a two-man class.

Dan McHale and his staff at Eastern Kentucky reeled in a terrific trio with SG AJ Youngman,
SF Peyton Broughton, and CG Dedric Boyd. All three had interest from a host of programs from various levels. All three were important recruiting wins for the Colonels.

UT Martin signed a pair big wings with Carlos Marshall from Memphis and Dalonte Brown from Ohio. Both are long 6-foot-5 wings that can defend out to the wing and play hard in the paint and around the rim.

SEMO head coach Rick Ray has proven himself as a quality recruiter of the city of Atlanta. He went back to the honey hole and found a terrific shooter in Khalil Cuffee.

Hunter Vick is a big-time scorer and an important recruit for the staff at Tennessee Tech.
