About the Event
Since its inception in 2013 the Georgia Cup has quickly grown into the highest profile circuit for travel basketball in Georgia. The Cup consists of four regular season tournaments and a Finals, which also serves as the State Championship for US Amateur Basketball. Most Georgia Cup stops have between 100 and 150 teams and are covered extensively by our HoopSeen team. Please make sure to register early as most Georgia Cup tournaments sell out before the stated registration deadline.
Teams are guaranteed 3 games and the format is pool play into bracket play.
For Georgia Cup's we release the tournament schedule at 9pm on Wednesday night before the tournament. We highly encourage you to download the HoopSeen App on Apple or Android to follow along with the schedule.
Admission Friday is $5/adults and $3/students. Saturday & Sunday is $8/adult and $4/students.
Awards & Recognition
Trophies and Medals are given out for the top 2 teams in each division. We also recognize all tournament teams at each age division. Throughout the tournament HoopSeen will also have scouts watching games. Nobody in the tournament industry commits anywhere close to the amount of resources we do recognizing and chronicling the action at each tournament. Players and Teams who play well are often recognized on our widely followed social media accounts as well as in articles posted to HoopSeen.com. We will post hundreds of photos to social media and to HoopSeen.com and some Players may also earn a "Player Profile" on HoopSeen.com which we will continue to update as we track a player's progress throughout the season and years to come.
Make sure to follow our various social accounts during the event.
In order to compete for a state title in the Georgia Cup Finals a team must compete in at least one other Georgia Cup stop during the season. All teams who participate in the Georgia Cup finals are eligible to go on and compete in the US Amateur National Championships.
US Amateur Basketball & HoopSeen
This year HoopSeen has partnered with US Amateur Basketball, one of the largest and fastest growing national sanctioning organizations in the country. We will use the US Amateur system for roster and team check-in. All of our tournament results will also be recorded on US Amateur where teams will be given a power rating as well as earn points for each event. If you haven't registered your team with US Amateur Basketball (annual membership) you can do so here. We will use the team power ratings to seed Georgia Cup tournaments. US Amateur offers some other benefits as well. They have an excellent (and inexpensive) team insurance program that covers a team regardless of what kind of tournament they play in (i.e. AAU or YBOA or others). More information on team insurance can be found here.
